Third of a family of five boys, Paolo dreams first to become a truck driver, as his father was at that time (he skips school merrily to accompany him on his trips across France and all over Europe and he draws a true passion for the trucks which enlivens him even today), then he discovers Paul Newman in Cool Hand Luke (Luke the cold hand, film made in 1967, to see absolutely, and not only for the mythical scene of the eggs!!!) and he tells himself that it is that that he wants to do. But his two elder brothers are into boxing (they became champions in Italy) and it is very natural that Paolo follows their traces.

In 1988, he becomes established in New York, which he leaves in 1989 to come to live and to work in Paris...

(rires)''.

In 2001, Paolo is chosen for title role in the Largo Winch television series; a role which he refuses first but ends up accepting after having read the comic strip: ''This morning, I had just spoken to my agent in London to tell him: 'Tell them to do me leave me alone! If I don't want to make it, I don't want to make it, and I am not going to make it! 'I called him after four months and I tell him: 'It is too late or it is not too late? Bring it to me! '(laughs)''.

+
Paolo is tremendously pleased with the filming of Largo Winch and is considered by the authors of the comic strip to be the incarnation of their character:'' 'I like to work with everybody on the set. We work with big actors and we burst out laughing. We get along well and it is a good series, what I can say... I was lucky... Whoever it is who sent me this comic book to my hotel in Toronto, had a bright idea of making it because otherwise I wouldn't be here now. I would do undoubtedly be doing something else (I hope so !) but not that and I got a lot of pleasure from it until now.' ''

Paolo Seganti in 2004

Paolo Seganti was born on May 20th, 1965 in Milan, in Italy. He is married to the actress Carlotta Chang and they have two children, Srella and Marcello.

Contents

Youth

In fact, he doesn't content himself to follow, he lines victories up: 17 by K0 and 20 in points against just 3 null and 2 defeats on a total of 42 matches! He wins for the first time the amateur championship of Italy at 14 years old and is part of the national team during almost four years in the course of which he wins the title three times. But contrary to his brothers, he doesn't feel he's made for this. The ring, for him, is first of all a stage and a way to occur before an audience...

Paolo leaves the family home at 14 with the intention of discovering the world, and he launches himself into the adventure of the theatre while exercising a multitude of casual jobs. With confidence and encouragement of his family, he discovers life and its price.

Model

His course leads him for the first time to New York, for some weeks in 1986, but, not speaking English enough, he tries in vain to take down a model's job and a work permit. Paolo doesn't confess that he's been defeated and he leaves then for Toronto, Canada, where he succeeds this time to get a contract of employment as a model while beginning again exercising casual jobs and boxing to earn his living.
